At Miller Family EyeCare, we are all about total vision wellness. The staff and optometrist are among the finest and most dedicated professionals in eye care. Your overall eye health is important to see your best now and into the future.
Our exam begins by taking the time to carefully listen to your symptoms and complaints. We then go above and beyond a routine eye exam to uncover any potential eye disorders or diseases. We will explain your visual conditions and how they relate to the symptoms you have shared. Recommendations may include glasses, contact lenses, or medical treatment.
Vision Care Exams are covered by many different vision insurance plans. Examples of a vision care exam include determining the need for corrective lenses and a precise lens prescription; a complete visual efficiency evaluation, and a complete ocular health exam.
Medical eye exams are covered by your medical insurance. Examples of a medical exam include treatment of red eyes, allergic, bacterial, and viral conjunctivitis, dry eyes, contact lens related infections, corneal ulcers, corneal abrasions, foreign body removal, as well as glaucoma treatment and the pre and post-operative surgical care for cataracts and refractive surgery. Often eye drops or oral medications will be prescribed during a medical eye exam.
Our finest quality eyewear will help you see and look your best. We offer a large inventory of eye glass frames. From high end designer fashions to classic, sporty or children's frames, you will find your perfect look. We can help you find the perfect size, shape and color of frame that is right for all members of your family.
When it comes to contact lenses, we offer a full spectrum of the latest and best performing products. With the latest in contact lens technology, we strive to have the solution that is just right for you.
We offer competitive pricing, affordable eyewear packages and multiple pair savings. You will receive a 25% discount on any additional pairs purchased within 30 days of your original eyeglass purchase. If your new glasses are lost or stolen, you will receive a 30% discount on the purchase of an exact replacement pair of glasses for a period of 6 months from the original date of purchase.
Your new frame is under warranty for one year from the date of purchase. Your frame will be replaced or repaired if there are any defects based on normal use of your eyewear. If your frame is no longer available from the manufacturer and cannot be repaired, we will replace the frame with a product of equal value.
Your glasses are custom made for you, with your prescription and your measurements. There are certain times when lenses need to be remade due either to a doctor’s change in prescription or for scratched lenses that are under warranty when antireflective treatment is purchased. Under these situations, a remake is done at no cost to you. Doctors’ changes need to be made within 60 days of picking up your new glasses. Scratched lenses or other lens defects have a one year warranty when antireflective treatment is purchased and can be replaced one time during that one year period. There will be no refunds on changes made to lenses or lens options. Exceptions may apply depending on your individual insurance carrier and their lab policy.
If you don’t like your frame and would like to restyle within 30 days of picking up your glasses we are happy to help you with that. There is a $25 charge for this service. If you have trouble adapting to your new lenses either due to lens material or coatings, there is also a $25 charge. There will be no refunds if you choose to change frames or lenses. Again, there may be exceptions depending on your insurance.
We want you to love your new glasses and will make every effort to stand behind the products we sell. However, please understand that because these products are custom made for you, we do not offer refunds.
*If your vision insurance plan provided your frame and lenses, your warranty is determined by that plan's policy. You may have a warranty from your vision plan which supersedes this warranty.
*Custom orders are excluded.
Contact Lens Policies
Please note that our contact lens fitting and evaluation fee is in addition to our regular exam fee and is not covered by insurance plans. The fitting fee covers the measurements, evaluation and vision testing for the contact lens that your doctor prescribed. This fee also covers 60 days of contact lens related office visits and follow up appointments. Trial lenses are also covered under this fee. This fee is due at the time of service.
Contact lenses are considered a medical device by the FDA. Iowa state law mandates that contact lens prescriptions be valid for a maximum of 18 months from the initial prescription date, however, the contact lens prescription expiration date is at your doctors' discretion within that 18 month period depending on your visual health.
